Insight Associates grew out of conversations with local professionals who had specific requests for a behavioral health practice.

They wanted a high level of confidentiality and professionalism but on a more personal scale. That model fit with our preferences as well. 

We developed Insight Associates to be the kind of agency we would use ourselves.

C. Richard Panther, MSW, LCSW, is Insight Associates' Clinical Director. He has 16 years of experience in a variety of behavioral health and social work settings with more than 7 years in clinical practice. 

He is also a partner with Workplace Solutions, LLC, providing Employee Assistance Programs, staff development, and organizational services to the Western North Carolina business community.

Mr. Panther has a Master of Social Work degree, with a concentration in Adult Mental Health, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He is licensed to provide clinical services in NC and is a member in good standing with the National Association of Social Workers. 

Mr. Panther is an active member of the Native American business community. He sees clients at both office locations.

Christine Mercier, LCSW, is the former Director of Emergency Services at The Balsam Center in Waynesville, NC. Christine works with adults and adolescents coping with mental health and substance abuse issues. She is currently developing a DWI assessment program. Christine works primarily out of our Whittier office.

Veronica "Ronnie" McKay, LCSW, works with adults and adolescents primarily out of our Waynesville office location. She is also on the staff of The Balsam Center in Waynesville. Her duties include providing emergency services at the Haywood Regional Hospital emergency room. 

All of our Associates are licensed to provide clinical services in NC and maintain individual practices in multiple therapeutic settings.
