Insurance plans can be difficult to understand but don't let the complexity intimidate you.
Keep in mind, you usually only pay the co-pay amount and not the entire fee (just as with your Dentist or Physician visits).
We can help you sort through the specifics of your plan; you don't have to do it yourself.
If you want to call us and provide the information on your insurance card, we will get the answers for you.
Your benefits office and the customer service department of your insurance company, can also provide all the information you need.
Generally, plans have a co-pay amount that is paid at each appointment; this is usually between $10.00 and $40.00 and it is often listed on your insurance card under "outpatient mental health". Some plans require no co-pay at all.
This co-pay amount is often the only amount you ever pay for our services.
You might have to meet a deductible each year before your plan will pay for services; other plans have no deductible at all.
The number of sessions you have available is also important. Some plans have no limit to the number of sessions you can have; any counseling you might need is covered.
Other plans might cover as many as 30 sessions or as few as 8.
The important questions to have answered about your insurance plan are as follows:
- Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is it?
- What is my co-pay amount for each session?
- How many sessions are covered?
- How many sessions do I have available this year?
- Are there any other limits to my coverage?
We discuss all of these aspects of your coverage to maximize what your insurance plan will provide for you.

We sometimes accept insurance plans (other than those listed here) as an out-of-network provider.
We can contact your insurance company in advance or after your first appointment to review your coverage.
Insurance plans change occasionally, so even if you don't see your plan listed here (as written on your insurance card), our services might still be covered for you.

Insight Associates will file a claim with your CRESCENT network insurance company for reimbursement of our services.

NOTE: If you would like to use your Blue Cross/ Blue Shield benefits for our services, Insight Associates will provide you with a receipt, with all of the necessary practice information, to forward to your BC/BS insurance company for reimbursement.

Insurance plans vary widely and each client is encouraged to verify their coverage, but often the covered person has no charge but the co-pay amount.
For example, EBCI employees with Kanawha/ Crescent have a co-pay of $20.00 per session regardless of the fee. Some BC/BS plans have co-pays as low as $15.00.
Since most insurance plans "reset" benefits with a new calendar year, it is often possible to use behavioral health benefits for an entire year period.
For example, if you have a plan that allows up to 30 sessions per year, then you could have 30 weekly sessions in the second half of one year and 30 weekly sessions in the next year for a total of 60 continuous, weekly sessions.
And, of course, you would never pay more than the co-pay in that 60-session period.
The initial assessment fee is $125.00. The fee for a 30-minute counseling session is $50.00. A 50-minute session is $90.00. The 75-minute session is $110.00. Counseling fees are usually covered by insurance.
The Life Coaching fee is $500.00 per month with a minimum of 3-months required. This includes 3 sessions each month and unlimited phone and email support.
Life Coaching is not usually covered by insurance.
Insight Associates accepts cash, money orders, and personal checks as payment of fees.
Checks should be made out to Insight Associates.
Payment is due at the beginning of each session unless other arrangements have been discussed and agreed upon with our staff.
If you have to cancel a scheduled appointment, please provide at least a 24-hour notice in advance.
A cancellation within the 24-hour period prior to the appointment may be assessed a fee.
We do not currently accept Medicare or Medicaid for reimbursement of our services.
